DSEK Cornea Transplant (Descemet’s Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty)
For patients experiencing advanced corneal conditions such as Fuchs’ dystrophy or endothelial dysfunction, a DSEK cornea transplant may be necessary to restore vision. DSEK is a minimally invasive, modern surgical technique that involves transplanting only the damaged layer of the cornea—the endothelial layer—rather than the entire cornea, which was the method used in traditional corneal transplants.
Benefits of DSEK:
At Marion Eye Centers, we specialize in DSEK corneal transplants, utilizing advanced imaging techniques to precisely perform the procedure with minimal discomfort. Our surgeons are experts in corneal transplant surgeries, ensuring that each patient receives the most effective care to improve their vision and quality of life.
Dry Eye Treatment
Dry eye disease is a common and often uncomfortable condition that can be caused by a variety of factors, including environmental conditions, aging, and underlying health issues. For many people, dry eyes can lead to irritation, redness, blurry vision, and difficulty with daily tasks.
At Marion Eye Centers, we offer comprehensive dry eye treatment options tailored to the underlying cause of your symptoms. Our team conducts thorough evaluations to identify whether your dry eye is due to insufficient tear production or excessive tear evaporation. Based on the results, we offer personalized treatments that may include:
Our goal is to relieve your dry eye symptoms and help you maintain comfortable, clear vision.
Keratoconus Treatment & Corneal Cross-Linking
Keratoconus is a progressive condition in which the cornea thins and bulges into a cone shape, leading to distorted vision. As the cornea becomes weaker, it can result in significant vision impairment. Without treatment, keratoconus can worsen, requiring a corneal transplant in severe cases.
At Marion Eye Centers, we specialize in the treatment of keratoconus and offer the latest interventions to halt or slow its progression:
Corneal Cross-Linking (CXL): A minimally invasive procedure designed to strengthen the corneal tissue by applying riboflavin (Vitamin B2) drops to the cornea and activating them with ultraviolet (UV) light. This process helps to halt the progression of keratoconus and potentially prevent the need for a corneal transplant.
Intacs®: Implantable rings placed in the cornea to flatten its shape and improve vision, often used for early stages of keratoconus.
Custom Contact Lenses: Specialized lenses such as scleral or rigid gas permeable lenses that help patients with keratoconus achieve clearer vision and increased comfort.
With our advanced diagnostic tools and expert knowledge of keratoconus management, we provide effective solutions that help maintain your vision and quality of life.
