Dr. Omar Ahmad was born and raised in Southern Illinois. After graduating from Carbondale Community High School as class valedictorian, he attended The University of Chicago for his undergraduate studies. Dr. Omar graduated as a Student Marshall, an award given to the top twenty graduates in his class. He then studied at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He received his ophthalmology residency training at the University of Michigan and completed a two year Medical and Vitreo-retinal Surgical Fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic. He is happy to have returned to his native Southern Illinois and currently resides in Marion, IL.
